5,000 acres. The 404-foot Hickory Nut Falls is among the most dramatic
waterfalls in western North Carolina. Parts of “ The Last of the Mohicans”
and “ Dirty Dancing” were filmed in and around Chimney Rock. Meandering
throughout Chimney Rock is the Broad River. The Broad is famous for
trout fishing all the way from Chimney Rock through neighboring Bat
Cave, NC. Tourists experience fine shopping, food, and specialty shops
along the streets of Bat Cave. Bat Cave is conveniently located about
30 miles east of Asheville and is a popular destination for those who
