“We believe that there are many books out there that aren’t being used anymore and we also know that there are many children in the county who don’t have many books. We are taking on projects that will help the communities we serve and particularly the children who live in them.” -Brent Washburn
The project is similar to one carried out several years ago by the county literacy council and The Daily Courier. That effort resulted in more than 4,000 books being donated. Help us beat that number this time around!
We are working with the school district to distribute the books to children in both elementary and middle schools. Free distribution of the books is expected to take place in May before the children leave for summer vacation. We appreciate any and all donations and can’t wait to see what the community can pull together for the children in Rutherford County.
