Forest City Real Estate

Despite its appearance as a small town nestled in the foothills of North Carolina, Forest City offers many different attractions. A few
of these attractions include a very unique car museum, one of the largest car shows in the Southeast, a collegiate Summer Ball baseball team, and a “ Christmas Lights “ display each year that would make old St. Nick himself jealous.  Bennett Classics Antique Auto Museum
is one of the country’s finest museums sporting a wide selection of automobiles from the Model A era to sports cars of recent decades. Owner Buddy Bennett has put together quite a collection and has given the community something to be very proud of. North Carolina has always been a huge part of “ racing country,” so the Hot Nights, Cool Rides event in August each year is a big attraction. During the event, hundreds fill the streets of downtown Forest City to catch a glimpse of the participating autos.

Forest City is also home to Houston Texans owner Bob McNair. Not only has Mr. McNair created a stir for NFL football in the area,
but he has also brought quality baseball and a brand new stadium to the area. The Forest City Owls began to play in 2008 and from May thru August each summer will demonstrate a high level of competitive play for the residents of Forest City. Holidays, especially Christmas, are always a big hit in Forest City. In addition to millions of lights, folks of all ages can enjoy carriage rides, sipping on hot chocolate, and singing carolers in storefronts.

Considering the prices of real estate in most areas of western North Carolina, real estate is a great buy in Forest City. Whether you are looking for a single-family home in an established neighborhood ( Knollwood, Weatherstone, etc) or looking to purchase a lot to build your dream home in a budding new area ( The Palms, Royal Oaks, etc), pricing will be very attractive in Forest City. With the expensive cost of development in bigger areas such as Charlotte, Asheville, and Spartanburg, it’s no wonder there are many folks looking to move into the area.  During your visit to the area, enjoy some of Forest City’s best in food and lodging—-Copper Penny Grill, The Dragon Palace, Big Dave’s Family Seafood, Fat Tracy’s Barbecue, Twisted Pear, Jameson Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Comfort Inn.

Forest City is proud to be a part of the Thermal Belt Rail Trail – over 13 miles long and a 12-foot wide trail running through Rutherford County.
